$ 96 Mln contract has been awarded to UAE contractor Arabtec to build the UAE pavilion for Dubai Expo 2020, the design project is based on the world-famous architect Santiago Calatrava.
The pavilion shall be located at the centre of the 4.4 sq km exhibition are, with expected project completion scheduled for last quarter 2019.
Between 20th October 2020 and 10th April 2021, Dubai will host the next World Expo. Bringing together more than 180 nations and an international audience of millions, it will be one of the greatest shows on Earth.
Dubai wants Expo 2020 to be one of the most inclusive in the history of World Expos. Invitations have been extended to all nations to display their talents to the world and Dubai expect around 70 percent of the visitors to come from outside the UAE; the highest proportion of overseas visitors an Expo has ever seen.
By the end of 2016, official reports confirm that over 80 countries had already confirmed their participation in 2020 Expo in Dubai; an unprecedented level of commitment so far in advance of the event.
Visitors will see amazing architecture, structures and content, including UAE Sustainability Pavilion that will display intelligent strategies for sustainable living and exemplify sustainability in its own design.
Possibly the biggest challenges for the 2017 will be to maintain the pace of progress necessary to achieve the planned milestones and to continue to communicate locally and globally that the Dubai Expo 2020 will be an Expo not to be missed.
